Began by Dr. Chris Morris in 1993, Morris Veterinary Hospital is dedicated to providing professional care to all the patients we encounter - large or small
We offer specialized services, ranging from the routine annual physical and vaccinations to surgery and dental care. We also offer on-site boarding facilities.
Both of our doctors grew up working with large animals and know how important these animals are to us in this area. They can even make house calls or ``farm calls`` when their schedule allows,or in emergency situations. We see large animals on a daily basis.
Sometimes, our pets can have some bad breath! We can usually make this better with a teeth cleaning. This is an outpatient procedure where we sedate the animal to work on them and send them home later. We also pull any infected teeth beyond saving.
We pride ourselves in knowing our doctors give thorough exams to all patients, from the elderly family cat to the new puppy. And we always recommend having your pet examined at least once a year to be sure they are doing well and have a healthy future.
Whether your pet has a potential fracture, intestinal problems, or even needs a pregnancy evaluation, our x-ray technology can help give an accurate and quick diagnosis, and a visual reference to see what treatment plan will work best for the patient
No one likes to see an animal in pain. Whether it's an elderly patient suffering from arthritis, or a pet recovering from a sore wound, we do offer this therapy treatment. The Class IV laser goes down to the cellular level to relieve pain and inflammation
Our surgery days are Tues-Thur every week and we offer many types of surgery including: spaying and neutering, ear trims, amputations, eye surgeries, tail docks, declawing, tumor removals, bone surgery, bladder stone removals, and many more.
If you have a vacation trip planned or must leave on short notice, we have plenty of kennels to keep your pets while you're away. We pride ourselves in making sure our kennels stay clean, are comfortable for the animal, and we give them all that they require.
We believe in keeping pets vaccinated to protect against disease, and dewormed often to rid of any parasites. Starting in 2017, we offer a 3 year duration rabies vaccine. Also, you can purchase some vaccines over the counter along with dewormer for your pet.
Dr. Chris Morris grew up in Rayville and graduated from LSU Veterinary School. After two years in Jackson, Mississippi working as a relief veterinarian, he returned to start a practice based on enhancing the human animal bond through helping to maintain a better life for the animal friends we encounter daily.
Dr. Jean has worked with small animals for over 30 years. From a specialty feline practice in New Orleans to mixed practice in Bastrop and now small animal in Rayville. She works tirelessly to discover the answers to difficult cases presented to her.
Dr. Lyle Bennett worked during high school as a veterinary helper at our hospital. After graduation from Ross Veterinary School, Dr. Lyle returned to our hospital to work on large and small animals by performing surgery and providing medical care every day but Monday.
